PRESS RELEASE From the Block to the Brush, Grafitti 2010 at Paul Fisher Gallery Featuring There was Grafitti in ancient Rome & Greece and it has been a backbeat to the contemporary art scene for decades. We have seen great talents rise from the streets and take their place in the best museums, galleries and collections. We know Crash, Lady Pink, Keith Haring and Kenny Scharf, and this exhibition will showcase their work along side exciting young and emerging artists creating works that are fresh, sharp and informed. Collectors remember the early days of Pop art and other currents in the art world when we had the thrills of discovery of emerging talent from the new avante garde and this is where to look now to find the stars of tomorrow. The event will open to the public on Friday evening January 15, 2010, from 6 – 10 PM followed by an after-party. There will be a second reception on Saturday and during the day the young artists will be able to spend quality time with collectors, curators and other arts professionals. Portion of the proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks. We feel there is a need for these events to allow urban youths a rare opportunity to explore their creative options and to understand the need to help and support charity at the same time.
