A Life in the Day: Masaaki Hatsumi

I get up when I wake up, although I'm not much of an early riser, as I tend to work through the night. I don't know what time I'll go to bed or wake up on any day because, as a ninja, I make a habit of never having any sort of routine. The Palm Beach Bujinkan Dojo was established in 1990 by Paul Fisher. It is located at The Flamingo Building in West Palm Beach. Training is Monday and Thursdays, 7:00 - 9:00 PM. We also train on some Saturdays. Several times a year are weekend seminars with guest instructors from Japan and Europe. Click here to contact the dojo

The training is quite comprehensive in the study of both unarmed and armed combative techniques, strategy & philosophy. The main principles are to use natural movement, relaxed and smooth, with balanced posture, proper distance, and timing. You learn to use your entire body for every movement/technique, to provide the most power and leverage. Click here to read the Bujinkan guidelines

Paul Fisher is the main instructor. In 1990, I passed the test for Godan (5th degree black belt), and received the title "Shidoshi", which means among other things, fully licensed teacher

My teacher is Masaaki Hatsumi (Grandmaster) of the Bujinkan School. He is a true renaissance man. Martial Artist, Writer, Painter, Doctor (retired). He is a bright, happy, unconventional man who has made his mark on history.

Here are some papers that I have found interesting:
